Top 100 Songs Of The Decade: “Country Robot/A Letter To Dorothy” – The Incredible Moses Leroy

“Country Robot/A Letter To Dorothy”
by The Incredible Moses Leroy (2003)

I don’t know why, but I am usually drawn to songs that reference The Wizard Of Oz, not that there have been that many. In 2003, I first heard “Country Robot/A Letter To Dorothy” by The Incredible Moses Leroy, which was in reality the brainchild of indie artist Ron Fountenberry. The song is sung from the point of view of the Tin Man, writing to Dorothy about how things have changed since she left the land of Oz. The song comes from the fourth, and last Moses Leroy CD Become The Soft.Lightes. Oddly enough, after that record, Fountenberry went on to form a band called… The Softlightes.

I hope you’ll check out the beautiful “Country Robot…”
