Beard Blog – Day Five

Well, another couple of days have passed and the beard is starting to grow in nicely.  But, before you take a look at the photo, here are a few beard trivia facts that you may or may not know.

– Although it was invented around 20 A.D., the beard faced near extinction for hundreds of years.  It was re-discovered by Sir Phillip Beard in 1679, who brought it back with him to England, sparking new interest in “facial hair.”

– Before being rediscovered, and renamed by Beard, it was originally known as a Fitzgerald, which is where we still get the common phrase, “Hey bubby, your Fitzgerald is getting out of hand.”

– Beards produce oxygen, providing over 12% of the world’s supply.

Here is my photo for today… taken in Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World.
